Looking forward to part 2. Some friends and I were present at the Chino Estuary conference this last month with Vervaeke and Pageau; it was an interesting experience, and I'm still not totally sure what to think about it. God bless
Count another vote for part 2. That little explication of "anti-" really brings the reality to the fore of our common rhetoric; I'm thinking substituting it with "envy-" at the opportunity will make for some playful deconstruction in real time. Envy-fascism, envy-woke ...
I've watched Vervake for some time now...my impression has always been that he entered conversations in genuine good faith. That impression has been wrecked since he's gotten swept away by the prospect of AI...he keeps saying that he worries people are going to argue that there's some "secret special sauce" that makes humans unique and differentiates us from the AI entities. There is no good faith in that kind of talk because he's belligerently referring to the claim that man bears the image of God. He's doing so in such a dismissive and mocking tone... it's a stunning shift from what I've seen of him before. I just want to say to him "John, just say what you really mean. You don't believe man bears the image of God."
It's even more useful to be reminded during these times that I should continually draw my attention back into my own heart. So I can ask myself "Diana - do YOU really believe man bears the image of God?" and see how my words and actions fall short of my own profession of faith. At least Vervake doesn't claim to be a Christian. Ha! God bless you, I hope you had a blessed Feast of Pentecost! I look forward to a part 2.

Ok, that's one vote for me following through on part 2 — good to know!

Oh yeah, that meaning of anti- is never lost on me, and I have to be really careful how I use it!

Well it sounds like you've watched a lot more of him than I have. It's really useful to have my impression confirmed by you, so thank you for that.

Thank you, Diana! I pray your repentance bears fruit.
And that's another vote for part 2...
